Let's Get to Work for our Working Class

Working for our Working Class

"Matt for Michigan? What an egotistical name for what is supposedly a group dedicated to the community..."

At least that was my first concern when I opted to keep the name "Matt for Michigan" as I transition this from a politician's website and organization to one dedicated to create a coalition for worker's rights and working class values in Mid-Michigan.

Me and my wonderful volunteers spent the better part of the last 7 months building out a movement that sought to empower and bring representation to the working class in our community. I still believe in that message, and one loss isn't going to curb that desire. So, along that line of thinking, when the results came in and I thought about what would come next (a thought that had persisted in my brain the entire campaign), I made the decision not to throw away the momentum built by our campaign and instead transition "Matt for Michigan" from my political brand and turn it into a movement for good in our community.

What can you expect to see? I plan on hosting writers, providing interviews, and hosting fundraisers to help local businesses, charity organizations, and/or families in need. We will work to build a coalition of like minded individuals in the community who want to see our region thrive and our people heard and helped. I want to promote the ideals of our working class and fight to expand our rights through advocacy for causes such as higher wages, lower taxes, local economic movement, and addressing our housing shortage.

This won't be built overnight. This is going to take time, effort, and more hands than just me. So if you are interested in helping in any way, shape, or form (social media, event planning, local outreach, etc.) please sign up on our "Volunteer" page or subscribe to our email list for updates and opportunities. You can also follow us on social media for more information as it becomes available.

I continue to be thankful and humbled by the kindness and assistance of our community. Let's continue that work and try to make life better for our working class.
